The quality of the entries into the competition were exceptionally high, and as a result took us a great deal of time to shortlist and then choose the winners. As a result, there were also 7 runners up for the Silent Study Room and four runners up whose pictures have been used in the staff meeting room.

If you haven't seen the winning entries, feel free to come in and take a look around.

The Health Sciences Library at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital is holding a photography competition with the aim of displaying the winning entries in the silent study room.  This room is windowless and we would like to make it a more pleasant working environment.

Therefore, if you are a current student in the Faculty of medicine Dentistry and Health and a current Health Sciences Library - RHH user, please submit up to three images on the topic of “bringing the outside in” by 10 of June 2013.

Be as creative as you can within this broad subject area.

You should all have received an e-mail about the competition.  Please refer to this for how to enter and our terms and conditions of entry.  If you would like to receive these again please call into the Health Sciences Library - Royal Hallamshire Hospital and pick up a flier or ask at the desk!

We look forward to receiving your entries!

Health Sciences Library is now open!

The newly refurbished Health Sciences Library (RHH) reopened its doors on the 5th November and it's already proving a popular service among staff and students. The Library holds stock covering every area taught in our Faculty and caters for every department; so if you're a student in Dentistry, Human Communication Sciences, Medicine, Nursing and Midwifery, Orthoptics or ScHARR, this is the Library for you!

We have collaborative learning spaces and silent study facilities, with lots of PC's and desk spaces. We also have bookable group study rooms. There's friendly and knowledge staff on hand to answer any enquiries you might have and there's a new cafe just outside the Library for those all important study breaks.

So come and pay us a visit.

Refurbishment 2012 - Update

Great news! The date for the reopening of the Health Sciences Library has now been set. The Library will reopen on Monday 5th November at 10am

In order to move all the books back and complete the final finishing touches, all services at the site will end on Tuesday 30th October 5pm and will be unavailable until the following Monday. If there are any books that you need during that time please make a reservation and we will try and process everything as soon as we can.

Once again thank you for all your patience during this time. We know it'll be worth it once the new Library is unveiled. But for now here are a couple of photos for a sneak peak....
