"Continual Professional Development (CPD) is now an absolute requirement of maintaining Health and Social Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration. To do this I utilise the research skills learnt in my degree at Sheffield."
"A fundamental part of the radiographer’s role is being able to provide excellent patient information.... I therefore often have to use my skills of recognising authoritative, reliable information...."
Information Literacy is a hugely important transferable skill. Knowing how to find and evaluate good quality information is a skill that will enhance your career well beyond university.
In this series of case studies the University Library looks at how information literacy skills, as learned during your degree, are applied to a wide range of different professions. In the latest case study we meet Lizzy, a therapeutic radiographer in the NHS (and former archaeology student) who explains how information literacy helps her to keep up to date with the latest research and provide excellent patient information.
